It is a wonderful interview! I am glad that I found your blog through the site (although, unfortunately I couldn't post my comment there).
Although I know the "homecoming" is an essential part of the journey, it was difficult for us to return home after living abroad for several years. I found this quote from TS Eliot summed up the experience and thought you might appreciate it:
We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
